Black oak and white resin console

A wonderful and timeless design that evokes peace and perfection. The console is made of the highest quality wood - black oak. In combination with the white-colored epoxy, the console - in every interior - looks beautiful and attracts attention.

A 500-year-old black oak board was used in the console. Properly dried and prepared wood was joined with white-colored epoxy resin. The product has a matte finish, but at the customer's request it can also be beautifully polished - thanks to that it will gain shine.

The frame was made of steel. All elements were hand made, steel was sandblasted and powder painted in matt black.

Black Oak, what is it?

And what is worth knowing?

Black oak, also known as Polish ebony, is an excavation oak that has been in the ground or underwater for at least few hundred years. Oak wood contains tannins that react with iron salts present in water or earth, changing the color of the wood to gray-black to navy-black. The conditions in which it has survived to our times have a great impact on the quality and color of the preserved wood.

In addition to oxidation, a very important process that occurs in black oak wood is also the deposition and crystallization of mineral substances in the cell walls. This significantly increases the density of wood, which translates into a more difficult machining process (faster cutting tools).
